Our YP Co-ordinator

Hi,

My role as the Young People’s (YP’s) co-ordinator is to organise the meetings/outings for the YP’s to attend to help ease the isolation.

I will also try to help the parents to understand what is happening to their son or daughter, many times it only needs a listening ear other times it’s to provide information or sign post them to the relevant organisation.

This illness is a mystery and if an adult struggles to understand what is happening to their body how is a YP expected to know? As such one has to be like Sherlock Holmes to try and unravel the elements of the condition, never easy but always interesting and the same applies to helping the YP’s understand what is happening to them.

My role in the future is to help Barbara continue with her fantastic work to build the group’s YP base and to make all the local organisations aware of who and what we are.
